Photo guide
Three to six photos. Any phone. Two minutes by a window.
Good
- Daylight from a window, in front of you or to one side.
- Phone at eye level. Rear camera if someone can take it; front camera is fine.
- Hair visible and dry, no hat, worn the way it usually sits.
- One straight on, one from each side, and one of the top of your head if you can.
- Plain expression, mouth closed, eyes to the camera.
Bad
- Backlit, so your face is dark and the window is bright.
- Hat, hood, or wet hair.
- Filters, portrait mode, or beauty mode.
- Phone held low, looking up your nose.
- Group shots, or cropped from a group.
- Tiny screenshots.
Old photos
Old photos are fine if your face has not changed much. Your hair in the photo does not matter; you tell us your current length on the form, and the cut-today-or-grow-in line on each card is computed from that.
We are lenient. If we can work with what you send, we do. We only ask for a retake when nothing is sharp, or there is a hat, a filter, or a crowd.
